Prophetic Vision- A Call for Prayer and Unity for Our Nations Leaders

From my journal: Date: Monday, January 9, 2017

I had an open vision of our President elect this morning. After I finished up on our prayer line, I needed to lay back down for a few minutes. As I was falling off to a quick nap before I begin a busy day, I saw in a quick vision, President elect Donald Trump talking to a news reporter whom I couldn’t see; I only saw her hand and the mic she held. I knew that she was interviewing him concerning a serious occurrence. As he was responding to her questions, he lifted his hand to wipe his hair out of his face. His hair was full of black tar. The black tar was so thick and covered his hair so well that save for the portion of his natural hair that was not covered, I would have thought it was a wig of tar. He used his hand to smooth the tar down as if it wasn’t a surprise to him that the tar was there. The look on his face was calm and sober, as if he wanted to bring calm and assurance to someone, however, within the vision I was able to discern that he had been publicly humiliated and he was discussing the matter with the reporter.

All though I saw no feathers, I know that “tarred and feathering” is a metaphor for public humiliation. Wikipedia states the following in their explanation, “The aim was to inflict enough pain and humiliation on a person to make him either conform his behavior to the mob's demands or be driven from town.”, and “To "tar and feather" someone can mean to punish or severely criticize that person”. In my studies I learned that, in a dream, tar could be interpreted to mean oppression, persecution and humiliation. I see that When President elect Donald Trump takes office next week, he will be met with these in a great way. This really isn’t a new revelation because we all know that this is already happening to President elect Donald Trump nation wide, just look on any news media outlet. My vision came early last week a few days before the public humiliation really began to hit the fans. There are rumors of impeachment, boycotting the inauguration just to name a few. My vision, for me, serves as a confirmation of these things.

It’s clear that the next President of the united states has no credibility with many Americans across the nation. He will be met with great opposition, oppression and persecution when he takes the Oath for office. His administration will be faced with great obstacles and it will have difficulty in moving forward. These all confirm the vision I had since “tar” in a dream can imply all of the above.

I’m not a political person, however, I did vote according to the best discernment and integrity of my heart because I do care about this nation. I also voted because it is a cherished privilege and part of my Christian value. I

t’s not important as to who I voted for or even who won. When we look at the scriptures it is very clear that God is ultimately in control. Romans 13:1 from the Amplified Bible reads, “Let every person be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God [granted by His permission and sanction], and those which exist have been put in place by God.” This means that we who are civilians of this nation and voters of the political leaders of this nation must except the outcome of the race for presidency and leadership. Especially those who are a part of the body of Christ. We must submit to the Government that God has chosen, that is if we believe the Word of God.

No matter how much we disagree with the powers that be and how strongly we object to their administration, our duty as a nation is to pray for our leaders. It’s vital to pray sincerely for our leaders because when we do, it will ensure that we who are citizens will live peaceful lives in the land we love. I call your attention to I Timothy 2:1-4, “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. I’m a strong believer that fervent prayer does avail much (see James 5:16). If we want to see peace in our lives in 2017, one of the priorities that we have as a people of God is to pray.

Remember that our battles we face in this nation are not flesh and blood battles but spiritual ones. We war against spiritual powers, principalities, wickedness, devils and demons from the kingdom of Satan who does not want to see this nation thrive in peace (see Ephesians 6:12). It stands to reason that if we face spiritual wars, then we must use spiritual weapons. II Corinthians 10:4-5 from the New Life Version reads, “We do not use those things to fight with that the world uses. We use the things God gives to fight with and they have power. Those things God gives to fight with destroy the strong-places of the devil. We break down every thought and proud thing that puts itself up against the wisdom of God. We take hold of every thought and make it obey Christ.” I believe that if we want to see change in America in these next four years then we must pray- prayers that avail much. Instead of using our mouths to humiliate the powers that be, let us tear down strongholds the devil has built in our nation through opening our mouths to pray. I’m not necessarily a Trump fan, Obama fan or a Hillary fan, I’m on the Lord’s side. There is much to focus on in order for this nation to continue to be the great nation it is. Besides praying for our national leaders, we can pray against violence, drug and alcohol degradation, abortion issues, police brutality, crimes against children, racism, terrorism, the devastation associated with natural catastrophes, the systems of this world including the political system and so on. To knock down the strongholds of the devil, we need to unify as a nation and use God’s mighty weapons; our good conscientious works and prayer.

In this country we have a right to protest. We can gather at our city hall or even the White House because of freedom of speech. We have the freedom to write our State’s Senate, our legislatures and even the President to let them know what we the people want. These are good works. Some exercise their right of free speech to express strong objection during their award speeches, enjoy SNL sketches mocking our nations leaders in order to vent frustration, show contempt and to get our point across. All these we do because ultimately what most of us Americans want is to live in peace. Our hearts desire is to live in a nation that thrives economically, socially and peacefully. I strongly believe that we should be involved in our communities, cities and states, doing what we can do to make our world around us better. It’s good to speak up for the poor and the forgotten by exercising our right to freedom of speech through peace rally’s, marches and letter writing. God recommends that we work for our cities where we dwell. Read what Jeremiah told the people in chapter 29:7 (NLV), “Work for the well-being of the city where I have sent you to and pray to the Lord for this. For if it is well with the city you live in, it will be well with you.”

Let us not only do the things we know to do in the natural such as these, but if we believe that God is in control then we will also do what the scriptures require us to do to find peace in our nation. Pray! II Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV) declares, “If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” Peace begins with the White House and with the people of this nation. Instead of public humiliation and hatred, let us use the weapons of our warfare (Prayer) to tear down strongholds in this nation. In 2017, there is a mandate on the Church. That is to pray earnestly for our incoming President of the United States. Let us pray that God would turn his heart to humility so that he will desire, more than anything, to lead this nation with integrity of heart and with God’s wisdom. Pray Saints, Pray!
