STEP ONE: Take note to the character breakdown listed below. Decide which character to read for (best suits you). Send request for character side to the email address withMarilyn@livingoutloudonpurpose.org. Include Headshot/resume.
STEP TWO: A side will be sent to you. Please return your 1- minute video audition within 3 days. Make sure sound, lighting and picture is clear.
STEP THREE: If you are chosen for an audition appointment, you will be notified by email (within 3-5 business days from the receipt of your submission). Due to high volumes of auditions,
we are not able to contact those who are not selected.

Looking for Actors to fit members of an African American family. Actors must be of color unless otherwise noted in character description. Actors must be able to play ‘convincing’ age specified for each character.
BETHANY CLEARWATER
Educated, entrepreneur millionaire. Serious and emotionally disconnected.
Attractive female to play lead. Late 30’s- early 40’s
AMBER CLEARWATER
Bethany’s 16-year-old daughter. Feisty, Mature beyond her age.
Female to play teenager. Must be petite in body type. A main character
DAVID CLEARWATER, JR.
Bethany’s 15-year-old son. Angry and withdrawn. Troubled.
Male to play teenager, Any body type. A main character
ANTOINETTE CLEARWATER
Bethany’s Mother in law, affectionately called ‘Mamma Netty’. Nurturing
grandmotherly type. No nonsense, wise woman
Female to play 60’s-70’s. Any body type. A main character
BENJAMIN CLEARWATER
Mamma Netty’s son. Gentle giant. Friendly. Mid-late 50’s
Male, prefer tall and burly, BUT, any actor fitting the age range is
encouraged to audition. Supporting role
SAVANNAH LAWSON
Bethany’s dysfunctional older sister. Self destructive, addictive personality.
Love’s her niece and nephew. Comedic and dramatic role.
Female, Late 40’s- early 50’s. Supporting role
WINSTON AVALON
Bethany’s longtime ‘Man friend’. A lawyer, Articulate and drama free. Handsome
Male to play 40’s. Supporting role
WENDY BROWN
Ambers best friend. Wendy is witty, funny and high energy.

MR. THOMPSON
The family’s longtime friend, Mechanic and handyman. He could have a crush on Mama Netty.

SANDY LEACH
Bethany’s would- be best friend. User and deceptive
Attractive Female 30’s. Comedic. Supporting role
CHERLENE ATTAWAY
Fraternal twin sister. Bethany’s nosey and busybody neighbors and friends of the family.
Female to play Late 40’s- 60’s. Comedic. Supporting role
BERLENE ATTAWAY
Berlene is Cherlene’s fraternal twin sister (they do not look alike)
These Characters will be cast as opposites (body type, skin tone)
PASTOR WYNN CHARLESTON
Reverent and friendly. He and his wife are real and down to earth people.
Male to play 40’- 50’s. Any body type.
MARY CHARLESTON
Strong, Beautiful and humble.
Female to play 40’s-50’s.
GEORGE
One of Bethany’s dates. Handsome, well-dressed, Undercover sociopath, very scary.
Male to play 30’s- 40’s. Any body type.
ROY
One of Bethany’s dates. Spanish version of John Travolta (in Saturday night fever). Very spicy and energetic.
Hispanic male 20’s-speaks Spanish. Comedic role
KALVAN
A cowardly version of a ‘Napoleon syndrome’ type. Height should be no more than 5’5.
Kevin Hart type. 30’s- 40’s. Comedic role
GIANT
Tiny Lister, wrestler, football, weightlifter type.
Male-Very tall, muscular and physically intimidating. Any adult age.
